Pieter Bruegel, The peasant dance 1568

Pear Shaped Purse with Two Sections
These purses are made from vegetable tanned calf and goat skins that have been dyed using period dyes and they are made entirely by hand. This design is based on a figure in 'The Peasant Dance' by Pieter Bruegel painted in 1568. It hangs from a leather cord and is 9 x 6 inches (23 x 15 cms). The front and back of the main section is made from calf leather to help keep it's shape and there is a wide side gusset which gives it lots of room. The front has a seperate pocket held closed with it's own drawstring.

This design is also available lined with chamois leather and this version comes with an additional slit pocket on the back.
