15th/16th century medium belt bag with piped seams

This belt bag is made from oak gall black goat and calf skin with tan piping and is stitched by hand. The design for this bag comes from illustrations in Boccaccio's Decameron 1430 and is a common style in the 15th and 16th century. It has a draw string bag that is held closed with a button flap and hangs from a belt loop. The drawstrings have hand made beads on the ends.

It measures 8 x 12 inches (20 x 30cm).
Price: £38.00
