Ladies 14th/15th century square drawstring purse with piped seams

This purse is made from dark brown goat skin with tan piping and is stitched by hand. The design for this purse comes from illustrations in "The Decameron" by Giovanni Boccaccio - 1430 and was a common style in the 14th and 15th centuries. It hangs from a leather cord and the top is held closed by two leather draw strings which have hand made beads on the ends.

It measures 8 x 8 inches (20 x 20 cm) when open.
