Ladies 17th century narrow belt purse with tooling and an internal coin purse #1Ladies 17th century narrow belt purse with tooling and an internal coin purse #2
This purse is made from oak gall black goat and calf skin and is stitched by hand. The design for this purse comes from "Peasants Before an Inn" by Jan Steen 1653 and is a typical 17th century style. It has a draw string fronted bag with a stiff calf leather back and belt loop. The bag is kept close with a drawstring that has hand made beads on the ends and is covered with a button flap. The belt loop and button flap are decorated with a tooling design and the edges are bound with tan leather. Inside it has a separate coin purse with it's own drawstring.

It measures 12 x 5 inches (30 x 12cm).
