16th - 17th century belt wallet with a tooled square front and side gussets

This belt wallet is made from brown calf and goat skin and is stitched by hand. It has side gussets that are 1 1/2 inches wide to give it extra room inside. The flap is decorated with a tooling design and the edge is bound with tan goat skin. The design is based on a number of 16th and 17th century illustrations and is a common design in that period.

It measures 8 inches wide and 7 long (20 x 18cm).
