Vellum bound note book

This blank note book has a limp vellum binding which was a common method of binding for all sorts of note books, account books, receipt books and ledgers in the 16th and 17th centuries. The sections of the book are sewn onto deerskin thongs and the headbands are stitched with linen thread. It has a wrap around and has leather buttons and loops to keep it closed. The paper is a quality laid paper with no water marks and the book has 224 pages.

It measures 5 inches (13cm) wide and 8 inches long (20cm).
