16th/17th century ladies draw string purse with two side pockets and piped seams

This purse is made from buckthorn yellow goat skin with black piping and is stitched by hand. The design is based on a figure in "The Wedding Dance In The Open Air" by Pieter Bruegel painted in 1556 and was a common style in the 16th and 17th centuries. It hangs from a leather cord and the top is held closed by two leather draw strings which have hand made beads on the ends.

It measures 6 x 8 inches (15 x 20cm) when open.
Price: £75.00
