Facsimiles of 16th and 17th books in leather or vellum bindings.
These books are facsimiles of 16th and 17th century books that have been printed on high quality laid paper and then bound in a period manner. The texts have been subtle altered to remove the wear and dirt of centuries of handling and then printed on high quality laid paper that is close to the look and feel of period hand made paper. They are bound by hand using the same construction method that was most commonly used from the early 16th century into the late 18th century. They are covered in vegetable tanned goat skin that has been dyed using period dyes and are decorated with designs that where typical for the time each book was originally published. Some books are available in a limp vellum binding which was commonly used as a cheaper alternative to the full leather binding in the period.
